Scholastic Art Awards Experience Post

I had a lovely time at the Scholastic exhibition last Wednesday! It was very interesting to see what people my age are working on in such a formal format, and I was very happy to see my own piece out in the wild. It was a very rousing and motivating experience. I noticed in general that a lot of the Gold Key winners pushed composition and especially color, and I feel very motivated to do the same with my pieces now as well. My favorite pieces all used colors that really worked well together and stuck out. Even just a few days after seeing the exhibition, I've already began to incorporate more organized color schemes into my work and really double down on lighting. I'm excited to show off some finished pieces that involve what I've learned from this experience, and I already can't wait to go see next year's pieces.
