Reflection Post - Figure Drawing

Overall, I think I really enjoyed this brief unit, especially now that I've been through it a few times and understand well how it works. It was nice being able to dive right in, even if drawing with my whole arm for so long makes me achy.
What shocked me most about this unit was how well I settled into the longer studies, especially as someone with a particular style who draws from imagination most of the time. I didn't really settle into the quick gesture drawings because of how rapid fire they were, so being able to just stand and draw for a while was very soothing in contrast. There is also something so satisfying about using shapes to gradually build up a figure rather than just doing it conventionally. I might try doing digital subtractive work and try building up light in my acrylic pieces so that I don’t have to forget about the skill entirely.
I think that, in general, I've improved a lot with my poses over the past year. I wouldn't be surprised if learning figure drawing is a large part of the cause.
