I've been enjoying this project so far! I think that Egon Schiele's art style fits what I want to see in my art well, and I've been able to get the hang of how he depicts faces and bodies. What's been most challenging has been the realization that gouache was likely used for the background rather than charcoal. I plan on erasing the background I've done so far so I can go back in with very light gouache. It's been nice to feel validated in that an artist so famous and valued has an artstyle which is expressive and exaggerated. I've learned not to sweat it as much or compare my personal art to that of people who prefer realism. It's like comparing apples to oranges.
