Process Post - Haldern

I wanted above all for this piece to convey the deep-rooted connection and simultaneous schism between these two characters. Using Black Country, New Road's "Haldern" as a thematic inspiration, I worked on building contrast in facial expression just as much as in technique. I wanted 136, the blonde-haired woman to the right, to be extremely detailed and glorified in the eye 29, of her old lover and dearest friend, while still carrying a semblance of her unsavory past in the form of her declawed, slightly shadowed hand. As she takes 29's tired body in, the latter appears corpse-like and stuck in the city in which she fought for her life.
