I found this lecture interesting because it revolved more around how to make money as an artist than the process of being one. I wasn't expecting that to be the focus of the lecture, so it was a nice, refreshing surprise. I felt very seen as someone who has animated quite a few times when he spoke about how time-consuming it was. My motto when animating has always been "three whole days for three whole seconds!"
His talk made me think about what my life would be like as a designer or animator. I considered it in around 2018 when I first began animating, but quickly decided against it in favor of medicine. The time-consuming process of animation with a set due date would be very anxiety-inducing for me, and I'd probably grow to view art as more of a chore if I were forced to do it daily. I think I'd rather have a more spontaneous, science-oriented job.
